Home for an Employee

Lost Horizon recently built a home for one of its employees, Kamala Kumal. Kamala Kumal is a hardworking individual at Lost Horizon with lots of dedication and focus for her work. Upon hearing the story about her family and their living condition, Lost Horizon decided to make a new well-structured home for her family. Kamala’s Husband is visually impaired thus Kamala is the only member that is able to look after her family and educate their son. Their previous home was in a very poor condition and it was difficult for her husband to even walk inside the home or use the bathroom. Now, Lost Horizon has successfully completed the construction of a beautiful home with 2 bedrooms, 1 Kitchen and an attached bathroom which will hopefully make their lives better and easier. In addition, Lost Horizon also decided to provide 100% scholarship to their son, Unis Kumal, till his college education.

Since then, many have followed this practice after witnessing the positive impact the factory has had over the whole of Bharatpur-28, Chitwan, Nepal. The appreciation certificate was presented by Mayor Renu Dahal of Bharatpur Metropolitan City on December 31, 2017.

Contribution to the Indigenous Kumal Tribe of Nepal

Mr. Tel Bahadur Kumal (Vishal), Managing Director of Lost Horizon, received a certificate of appreciation for his valuable contribution and work to uplift the living condition of Kumal Tribe. The Kumal people are an indigenous group of people spread in different parts of Nepal, who prefer to live in small groups. Their day-to-day work consists of farming or fishing, and they are backwards in terms of education and most basic needs. Mr. Kumal is also from the Indigenous Kumal Tribe of Nepal and grew up in a remote part of Nepal. Although it was a great struggle for him to afford his education, he always had a big ambition in life to uplift himself and his community and provide a voice to the unheard. Mr. Kumal has been a part of Nepal Kumal Community Development Committee for many years and has been contributing most of his time and effort to bring a new change in the way of living for the Kumal tribe and the place he grew up in. Today Lost Horizon employs more than 300 employees in a village where Mr. Kumal spent most of his life. This certificate of appreciation was handed over by Former Prime Minister of Nepal Dr. Baburam Bhattarai on February 19, 2016.
